BlueJeanSparx Melody's Poses

I had the pleasure of being given some wonderful poses by the very sweet and kind BlueJeanSparx.

The first set you see on the left is based off of Madonna with the sit pose being called Madonna Hard Candy (BJSM), and the floor pose being called Madonna Confessions (BJSM).

The second set is more couture and also cinematic in nature with the standing pose being called BEN (BJSM), and the floor pose being called Cover Ears Crouch Pose (BJSM).

She also gave me a few poses inspired by the movie the 5th Element that I am looking forward to using in future blog posts. And I will be inserting a statement by BlueJeanSparx into the column as to why she makes the poses she does, and why it gives her such satisfaction.

Art has always been a huge part of who I am. It has been ever since I was a little girl...It moves me deeply.

Movie Stills, Sculptures, Dances, Photography, Music and Poetry are all things that have inspired me emotionally.

Mostly because they all contain moments captured in time...and for me pose making is all about capturing that moment.

There's a a story and feeling behind every pose I make. Much like the intensity of a bull fighter's stand before he strikes, or the gentle grace of an angel who has fallen and collapsed onto the ground.

Both images evoke an emotion....and for me that is the true beauty of it all...I just want to make people feel something. :)

I love Violator, as any one of my friends can tell you, but I also love every other store represented in this outfit. In this outfit, Violator, instead of being the show stopping, blast off avante garde gown usually featured, the brand is taking the back seat to Zaara's wrap dress. But it is setting it off perfectly.

The 24's Wow! shoes also are a huge asset, however this outfit could not live without Miamai's Deroke playsuit black base underneath.

Everyone of these designers brings something special to the table, and are truly at the helm of fashion. I love to see them all together, especially with Vanity Hair's gorgeous dreadlocks. They are highly detailed, and while some of the styles are more intricate in nature, others are more elegant. So buy up girls, and take advantage of what Miss Jewell is offering to you.

Glam Affair skins...well there is not much you can go wrong with there, and it was a gift!

I was hit over the head by a dear friend for just now learning about Shade Thorn and then I promptly hit myself over the head. How could I not have known the beauty, and unique appeal of their products? Well I do now, and my linden account is going to suffer for it.

The time has come. Only one will be the Face of one of the most loved SL Couture houses.

Bliss Couture crowns a wonderful 2010 with the event that will unveal who will represent the brand in the 2011.
We are looking for a lady that will embody the style of our label, the luxury and elegance of our creations, and be the essence of Bliss Couture.

Our most important model search of the year has started last july and ended in november, with the selection of 20 finalists. Like in the past year we would like to thank all the entries for the outstanding quality of the photos and stylings submitted, not only for the high number, over 350, that really makes us grateful and proud. The top 10 finalists will receive a professional photoshoot, and their choice of any one fatpack of a new release Bliss Couture dress or outfit.

The top 5 finalists will all become Bliss Couture Models, and be hired for various modeling work within the company. In addition to the prizes for the top 10, the top 5 girls will also receive a 5000L gift card each from Bliss Couture.

In february we celebrated Valentine’s with a double fashion show all in pink, the brand colour.
March has been the month of our Two Years Anniversary, honoured with the new flagship store at our Gown sim, remodelled with a new fashion and contemporary style, and the presentation on its runway garden of the Bridal Gowns white beauty beside a special selection of our most famous couture pieces.
Summer has been very hot on the Bliss Couture’s side with the beginning of our Model Search of the year, that selected the beautiful finalists in the past five months. But July has been also the month of the BLISS COUTURE HAIR launch, an exciting concept of sculptural hairstyles very appreciated by our dolls since the first hours of the exclusive saloon of the at the upper level of our main.
In September Bliss Couture presented its autumn/winter 2011 inspirations showing the most desirable proof of the designer’s talent during an intense calendar of events.
In December we launched BLISS COUTURE BASIC, during another show produced by our loved Mimmi Boa, Miss Bliss Couture 2010. Another small dream coming true, after the hair line, due to the enthusiasm and the endless creative talent of the founder and designer of the brand, Amutey DeCuir.

Bliss Couture started this incredible year with the unforgettable final event of Miss Bliss Couture 2010 held last january, with some of the most beautiful women in SL wearing the designs of the luxury brand on the Patch Thibaud Auditorium’s stage. We end the year again at the New Patch Thibaud Auditorium and cant wait to know who will be the next one.

13 Cortes: Well won the african queen contest at Angel Dessous

13 Cortes: so i got to compete at the finale of Miss Angel dessous. You know the result. 1st runner-up.

Serafina Ezvalt:How did it feel to see your print ad?

13 Cortes: i became even a bit emotional:) My first add. And asked by the people themselves, Jesika and Rusch.

13 Cortes: Not a cast, not a contest, asked in the face :)

Serafina Ezvalt: Amazing...

13 Cortes: For them that meant I did things right, and hope I will in the future. [there is] another opportunity the 15th. Avenue, if we mess up in those shows it could be that the next time will be harder to cast.

Serafina Ezvalt: Oh yes the show!

Serafina Ezvalt: Yes...Avenue shows are very erm ---complex.

3 Cortes: i love all my agencies but Avenue. i dunno. its the Top, a SL dream i had when i started and it came true.

Serafina Ezvalt: It is and I have just ...I am still in shock they picked me for their program.

Philosophy

Serafina Ezvalt: So when I teleported into MiaMai, what made you help me with modelling advice? Did I seem like a lost puppy lol

13 Cortes: hahahah NONONOOOOOO not at all.

Serafina Ezvalt: Lol oh I am though

13 Cortes: I tend to do that with models ;) well with everyone who i can help in anyway.

13 Cortes: and if they want :)

13 Cortes: always helpfull if needed and wanted :) maybe i will become a teacher once when i am good enough

Serafina Ezvalt: I think you already are hun

Serafina Ezvalt: I must say I was shocked by your kindness, and..how do I put it...easy going attitude? I felt like you reallly wanted to help.

13 Cortes: yeah you felt right

13 Cortes: i dont feel envy sera

13 Cortes: when someone is better they are better and i need to work harder :)

13 Cortes: when everything goes easy, its also easier to fall.

13 Cortes: i never had a teacher, a experienced one who helped or something like that, but i don't regret because this way i could create a own look instead of someones vison look.

13 Cortes: offcourse one can always make your own style, but when working hard and trying and trying you realy create YOU. we ALL work hard, one is better then the other or better said Different [It] has to do with SL time, how long, your bank account, which friends you have, how many known people you know. I dont know many known people. well i said hi and things, but Knowing them is something else. And there are 2 kinds of people: ones who like my name, and ones who don't:))

Serafina Ezvalt: Oh I think we all have negativity about what one is wearing or if they did that right ect, but to make it personal towards someone is upsetting to see. Exactly, people you know. The people up on the ladder..do you often wonder if they would do what you do for others or if they are just too busy?

13 Cortes: i think not many sera, but this is me RL and Sl. Everyone has the right for a nice spot in the industry and such, especialy when they invest time, lindens. i am not more then a aspiring model. not more then you. and not less then anyone. we are the same working hard. we just have to get a chance to show ourselves.

Serafina Ezvalt: *nods* You and a few others I have been truly blessed to know.

Work Ethic and Behavior

Serafina Ezvalt: Oh shapes...I am constantly tweaking since day one of sl...i am not sure i will ever get it right. Oh yes, my face is mine. heh

13 Cortes: we just dont know

13 Cortes: yup you are you :) keep it that way. a few days ago i changed a few small details again in my face :) we never stop. i think as long as we look like us its good. i have flappy ears now :)

Serafina Ezvalt: The 'graduation' show will be my first and I am so scared 13...what should I do to settle it down?

13 Cortes: its hard. just make your outfits work. be sure of them. then you are more then halfway. set poses. set walk. so the only thing you have to worry about it walk straight :)the choreo

Serafina Ezvalt: The choreography and hitting those marks

13 Cortes: you will be ready

13 Cortes: yes

Serafina Ezvalt: That is my huge, huge nightmare

13 Cortes: thats should be the only thing in your mind, and if you stop on the wrong place or just not right STOP there dont move anymore.

13 Cortes: and go on on the next cue. most people wont even recognize

13 Cortes: yeah sweaty slippery hands are not good :)) that is the excitement of modeling Sera. when that dissapears you could be not as sharp as before, and the chance is there that others are. when we stop learning is standing still

Serafina Ezvalt: Oh I am sure, veterans and up and comers alike

13 Cortes: nervousness keeps us sharp and on to it

13 Cortes: yeah

Serafina Ezvalt: Like before an entrance in a play

13 Cortes: i have seen so many models who forget somethings or even worse dont mind. that cannot be. offcourse i know we all try BUT. if you are a TOP model or SUPER model, it cannot be that your lashes are placed crappy, or hair part in your head, or not well resized:)

13 Cortes: i bet i have that also at times. BUT we have to try to minimize that

Serafina Ezvalt: If you are not sure about the resizing could you ask someone?

13 Cortes: yes DO

13 Cortes: you will know soon enough who are able or wanting the best for you and not thinking, "pff i hope she trips so i look the best." or look crappy. normaly we all look at each other if we are rezzed and things, and tell when things are wrong

Tips For Beginners

13 Cortes: yes the academy is a good step towards your goal. if you perform well, and you will, they could ask you for a interview when you end the academy

Serafina Ezvalt: I am doing my very best.

13 Cortes: i know and it will be noticed :)

13 Cortes: people just dont know what modeling is about until they do it themselves. awww pfff walk back and forth on a runway phwaaa i can do that.

Serafina Ezvalt: The choreography is so intense and I stumble quite a bit. The first day of training...oh my lord I should have worn a dunce cap >.<

13 Cortes: yeah yeah LOL

13 Cortes: *smiles* we all struggle in the beginning sera. believe me.

Serafina Ezvalt: I am getting much better though :)

13 Cortes: if you see my styling at the grad show whahahah i didn't look great. BUT for many its the first show, and we evolve. A
s long as krypt sees you evolve your good.

Serafina Ezvalt: And having your inventory organized....*sighs* Still working on it.

13 Cortes: yes important

Serafina Ezvalt: Have to have it done asap. Like uber asap.

13 Cortes: i have to redo it also for a part

13 Cortes: many things are in it again; more colors, more styles, more designers. i use categories:

Serafina Ezvalt: In one paragraph what would you give, advice wise, to new models?

13 Cortes: work hard,work to your goal,use critics and learn. That the most important one, like i said IT is noticed. You have more change to make it when they say,

"well Sera isn't the best in styling BUT how hard she works and do her thing." is great. or

13 Cortes: exsample right hihihih

"She looks great, but her lack of interest and work, and her interaction with colleagues isn't good."

Serafina Ezvalt: Sera sucks at hitting her marks but damnn she got it going on....oi

13 Cortes: shift as much as you think is needed, but work to the first thing thats comes to you

Serafina Ezvalt: *nods* I think that is a good ratio actually for now...

13 Cortes: lets say a show. make it work ,styling and pose picking. do the things first in which you are good at, and then do the things that are less good, and feel good about it.then it is easier. this is about graduation, perfection or near perfection is for later. time enough :)or like now the contest you will do. thats important.

Serafina Ezvalt: I can maybe do some choreo...feel good about myself and then work on my inventory while on that high?

13 Cortes: good idea

Serafina Ezvalt: Lashes are very difficult on these eyes for me for some reason.

13 Cortes: as long if we use lashes with many prims, so we can edit every hair. and for that use a skin with bare eyes or no black eyeliner, well not too much.

Serafina Ezvalt: Oh! Oh my gosh....I am so embarrassed. I didnt even think of editing everyhair

Sera, Ready To Take On The Modeling World?

The first real exposure I had to the modeling world, besides buying clothing, was through Flickr. I have an account and run a group (shameless plug) Holy Schnikes!-SL, in which I began seeing a large amount of amazing fashion photography submitted. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the lines, models, styling, and quality of craftsmanship from the photographers. I knew then and there, someday, I would be a part of it. In some form I was going to make my way to touch upon it, jump into the river and become a part of it's creative flow. Even if a sinking pebble, better than never having jumped at all, and miss all of that energy and life.

That is what draws me to the fashion industry here in SL, as in FL, it takes so many elements of the creative arts and puts them into a package, especially fashion shows. Going to a fashion show in SL is like going to the theatre. Even when the show is minimalist and clean, the drama and power of the designs in their right setting is breathtaking, and when elaborate and grand it is near overwhelming in a completely different way. That is the beauty of SL Fashion shows to me, the manipulation of the audience through highlighting the designs with just the right styling and ambiance.

Before I went to my first fashion show it took me awhile to even open up an issue of the magazines I had picked up at the kiosks such as; BOSL, Avenue, VAIN, etc. Once I finally sat down and looked through my first one I was in shock and began to devour them in droves. The models, the gorgeous photographs by those I was well familiar with from Flickr and then those who I did not know, and was excited to learn about, the interesting articles and even more exciting interviews that truly made me feel more connected to something tangible in SL. Something more real than just shopping and Role Playing. Yes folks, I RP. No folks, I do not play a sparkly vampire. *grins* But you might not want to meet her out in the street. Now my mermaid however.....*goes off babbling about all the different ways to turn couture dresses into fins and flippers*

“Japan Fashion Week”.

This week long event has been a collaborative effort between the teams at SuperELITE headed up by Amber Quinzet, COO and Agata Models Agency headed up by Sora Tatham, CEO.

The aim of this week of shows is to recognise the amazing talent and skill of the Japanese designers in SL who often go unrecognised. SuperELITE were keen to bring the Japanese market to a European and USA audience and Sora Tatham of Agata kindly offered her support.

Phoenix Piek designer of noted jewellery label AGALIA in conjunction with Maritima Inc and myself is searching for a model and photographer to showcase her latest jewellery for an advertisement photo promotional campaign in Modavia and Avenue magazine.

This is a paid position where the model will recieve 2500 L and the photographer 2500L for the sum total of their work in producing a photo marketing campaign to feature AGALIA `s new collection ( the shoulder pads featured in sample below will be one of the items required to be showcased in the photos) Alternatively the photographer may also be the model or vice-a-versa and will be paid a gross payment of 5000L

This is a very prestigious label and has been featured numerous times in blogs, magazines and showcased in runway style challenges. Agalia has managed to keep her uniqueness and boutique appeal avoiding mainstrem malaise while at the same time establishing itself as one of the most sought after jewellery labels in SL

The closing date for the entry will be midnight saturday 23/10/10

At which point final selections will be made.

If you are applying for the photographer or the joint Photographer/Model position featuring yourself please follow below instructions

- Please send at least one full perm 1024x1024 photograph highlighting how you intend to showcase the jewellery to its best effect. It is preferable to wear AGALIA jewellery in the photo but not a prerequiste or compulsory, You may send additional photos that best showcase your work in this context

-Please send to me emanuelle Courtois with your name labelled on the photograph texture in the form of ( Agalia Photographer --------NAME ) or alternatively you may attach the textures to a named NC

- You may use whatever editing tools are at your disposal and be as creative as you like

- PLEASE COME TO AGALIA MAIN STORE TO STUDY THE DESIGNS so that you are aware of the character, composition and nature of the photographs as well viewing the Photo below.

The three main categories for judging will be:

* FOCUS of the photos on the designs themselves (are there too many distractions taking away from that focus? can you clearly see the jewellery in the photo? etc)

* LOOK and styling of the model (did they use carefully considered lighting, pose, angles, accessories, hair, etc when creating the photo?)

* QUALITY and composition of photography (Photo processing and artistic additions to the photos are accepted and encouraged, but alterations to the integrity of the basic design or color of the clothing should not be made in processing the photos.)

If you are applying for the just the model position and do not feel confident in your abilities to use photoediting tools please follow below instructions

- Please style yourself in something which best highlights how you would showcase jewellery and select one pose that enhances your look

- Its is preferable to wear AGALIA jewellery but not compulsory , I am mainly interested in how you highlight jewellery and style content. The model if selected will be given the jewellery she will be required to model for the ad campaigns

- There will be no set casting time for this.

Instead please IM me when you are ready to showcase your look so that i may examine and study you. I will then TP you to Maritima or my secret garden of doom! and evaluate you. If you do not get a reply from me please continue to IM me .

The Contest this year will be run by Naiya Kazyanenko the House of Beningborough Events Manager and Darkevilone Demonia , CEO of Evane Agency. who will oversee the model auditions and choose 2-5 models each month to become FOB finalists and receive FOB Finalist tags. Hi again!

Final post in the new designers series. This time about Maylee Oh's Secret Store. Maylee started designing clothes not long ago and her store is still confidential but i'm pretty certain it's going to become one of SL's favs. Low prices for high quality items is a rarity in SL an that's just what The Secret Store has to offer.
Outfit no1 (starting from left) is Electric Stripes. A combination of classic, flex and sculpt techniques for a very cute little dress to be worn on all occasions. Great with boots such as the HOB noir boots here.
The second outfit is one of my favorites in my whole inventory. The Cookie Rain comes in various patterns for both top and skirt and you can mix and match for always great results. The one presented here is the Full Chocolate version with Argave's leather boots in Ivory.
Finally comes the Fresh Blueberry corset with a highly detailed texture and sculpt zipper.

Second post on my new designers series. This one about Meghindo's. If you TP to Meghindo Romano's store, you'll be amazed to see the huge choice in quality outfits. When you get there, don't pass on the higher storeys, as every floor is packed with fantastic items. It took me one hour just to choose which outift I would present in this post!
First from left is Lucia short dress. Amazing texture for this classy yet sexy dress. Stunning!
Second is Noemie Long Dress. Great for a formal night out. I enhanced the cleavage by wearing Glow Studios' Baked Steel Necklace.
Before going on to the third outfit, I have to tell you all Meghindo's evening dresses come with a long and a short dress versions to suit your mood.
Last item here is the Proof Beach see through dress. Wasn't sure about posting this one, because you've now all seen me almost naked. But, come on... I just HAD to show you this! Fabulous texture with silver linings. I was first thinking of wearing accessories and jewelry for this shoot, because I thought the whole thing wouldn't look "dressed" enough, but in the end, the dress speaks for itself: I'm showing my boobs to eveyone, and yet, I feel classy and elegant.

Sorry for being away from SL model case for a while, but I have been really busy with the BCA Fair for a Pair. So, I have loads to catch up with! This is the first post of a series of three about new talented designers. Second Life is full of unknown designers with a huge sense for styling, and it's really worth looking around for them.
My first designer here is Rui Muhindra, whose store "muhi" is not exactly unknown. Rui is a highly talented designer who masters all types of clothing techniques. I especially like her work with sculpts.
The first outfit on the left is the Serena Dress. Dark chocolate texture and a high collar makes it a perfect dress for this mid-season feel. A touch of shine with Bax's iconic Prestige Boots in silver to lighten up, and you're set for this year's fall!
Second outfit is the Asymetrical Body Suit. State-of -the-art sculpt work for this creative outfit. Works really well with Muhi's Sculpted Socks with Raw Gems and R2 Kaimana shoes.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Maven Haus Fall Collection show produced by Arcobaleno Modeling Agency on the 26th of September at 6pm SLT.

Maven Haus, by Elaera Maven is a contemporary Avant Garde design house featuring unique garments, skins and accessories. This amazing show was

“Young, fragile and dangerous” which sounds like the title of a romantic novel, but the words define the new Elaera Maven collection perfectly.

This extremely well executed show featured eleven "all new" garments, amazing skins and incredible hair. The models walked to perfection and the show was flawlessly executed. There was no script read out throughout the show which I personally think added to the dramatic atmosphere and left the models and the clothes to be the centrepiece of the occasion.

Hamaly Warcliffe and her team at Doll House Designs created a fabulous production set for this event based on the concept and initial building by Arcobaleno Owner, Vikeejeah Xevion.

Congratulations Arcobaleno Modeling Agency for putting on such an amazing show! I loved it and headed over to Maven Haus straight away to pick of several pieces from the new collection. Congratulations again.
