A new era in fashion begins ...

Some people say that being a virtual model is easy: You buy a shape and some stylish hair; then you get a nice skin, a pretty dress and a proper AO and off you go down the runway.

Maybe true! So what differentiates the hundreds of thousands of ladies that are dancing in a disco at any given time from the absolute top models?

 It's their ability to style!

The ability to style and make themselves fabulous and unique every time, is the difference between anyone and a fashion connoisseur. They need to know when to leave an outfit alone (less is more), but also when to mix and match and accesorize in a fabulous way to create that look that will have everybody else inspecting them! 

Frolic Mills & Mimmi Boa in association with METAVERSE TV are proud to announce the first televised master styling competition. This show is available for both ladies and gentlemen.

Taping of the show starts on Sunday September 26th and goes for 10 weeks every sunday at 1:00 PM SLT.  If you cannot commit to this schedule, please don't audition.

MONDAY THE 20TH – URBAN COLLECTION – 4 PM SLT  – The streets of Second Life won’t ever look the same!

TUESDAY THE 21ST: MEA CULPA  – 4 PM SLT – Fantasy Couture in a glamorous setting.

WEDNESDAY THE 22ND: VINTAGE COLLECTION – 4 PM SLT – We’ll take you back to the 20′s!

THURSDAY THE 23RD: THE AMERICAN GRAFFITTI SHOW – 4 PM SLT – A fun show for all!

FRIDAY THE 24TH: TRIBUTE TO YVES SAINT LAURENT – 6 PM SLT – We close this year’s fashion week with a tribute to the master YVES SAINT LAURENT – NOT TO BE MISSED.

BOSL: The Most Eligible Bachelor And Bachelorette Survey!

BOSL is pleased to announce our first annual search for the most eligible Bachelors and Bachelorettes in Second Life.

We want to know who YOU think deserve that title and feature the most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes in a July issue spread. It can be your favorite designer, builder or just your best friend - but tell us why and convince us.


The Best of SL Magazine will feature a survey on who you think are the most eligible bachelor and bachelorette in its July issue.

Please nominate ONE male and ONE female of who you think are the most eligible, state your reasons in one paragraph for each candidate, write them down in the attached notecard, add your name to the notecard and send it to Umberto Giano no later than June 10 (Thur), midnight SLT.

MISS VIRTUAL WORLD 2011 AUDITIONS - LET IT BEGIN!

ANNOUNCING: MISS VIRTUAL WORLD 2011 AUDITIONS 

It´s that time of the year when the MISS VIRTUAL WORLD Organization begins the search for the most beautiful female avatar on the grid!

If you would like to be considered, please follow these instructions carefully. Entries which do not meet this  criteria will not be shown on the MISS VIRTUAL WORLD Board.

1. Send a FULL PERM 512 x 512 headshot to BlackBarbie Bravin AND Frolic Mills labeled: MISS VIRTUAL WORLD 2011  (YOUR NAME) (don´t forget the year!!). Just send the texture, no folder is needed.

2. At the end of every month the judges will select those ladies, from the entry board, who they would like to see at a live audition. This means your face shot will be your first impression on the judges-so make it fabulous!

3. If you are called back for a live audition, prepare an outfit that you think will impress the judges. You will be judged on your walk, pose, styling and overall appearance. Please be aware that we are NOT looking for a Miaa Rebane nor Mimmi Boa look alike. We are looking for a new fabulous MISS VIRTUAL WORLD!

4. If you get enough votes from the judges, you will be announced as an official MISS VIRTUAL WORLD 2011 candidate.

5. If you were called back, BUT did not make it into the official candidate´s list, you may audition again at a later live audition without resubmitting a new picture.

6. If you were not called back for a live audition at all, you may re-enter a new face shot for the following month.

7. Photoshop is allowed, but please keep photographs realistic so that it reflects what you actually look like in Second Life. (That´s why we have live auditions too)

8. Monthly auditions will be held from April till September. In October we will announce ALL the Official MISS VIRTUAL WORLD Candidates.

9. The MISS VIRTUAL WORLD Pageant will be held on December the 18th at 10:00 am SLT. Please be aware that all rehearsals and press presentations will be held on Saturdays at around this time from October to December. If you cannot commit to this schedule, please don´t audition at all.

We are looking for the sexiest male avatar on the grid. 

Do you have it going on? Answer these questions before sending your picture:

- When you arrive somewhere, Do you get greeted: "How YOU doing?"

- Do girls always pínch your butt?

- Do some gay guys invite you to their apartment, ¨just to look around¨? 

- Do people open IMS to you for no particular reason?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, YOU may be the person we are looking for!

- Send us your best headshot 512 x 512 labelled:  MR VIRTUAL WORLD 2010 (your name) in a folder labelled the same way. Please send to Frolic Mills.

- Join THE BEST OF SL Magazine Readers Group, which will be the group used for all Mr. Virtual World 2010 announcements.

- If the judges like what they see, we will call you back for a live audition at the Patch Thibaud Auditorium., and only after we see all of the pre selected avatars, will we announce the official finalists to compete for the title of MR. VIRTUAL WORLD 2010 on Saturday  June 5th at 10 am SLT.

- Most rehearsals will take place on saturdays in the morning SLT. If you cannot commit to this schedule, please do not audition.
